IT HAS BEEN A TRULY WONDERFUL BREAK FOR US BOTH.

YOUR HOME IS SUCH A CHARMING AND ROMANTIC RETREAT.

IN SUCH A SHORT TIME WE MANAGED TO VISIT MANY SIGHTS , OUR FAVORITE WAS COLLIOURE.

WE FOUND A TRULY DELIGHTFUL RESTAURANT BY THE HARBOR/COVE.  FANTASTIC SEAFOOD.  EQUALLY ENJOYED THE FESTIVAL @ LECAUTE VILLAGE. WE HAVE ENJOYED A VARIETY OF FRENCH FOOD.

REINVIGORATED OUR SOULS FROM THE FAST PACE OF LONDON, AND GAINED A GREAT  DELIGHT TO LIVING IN A VILLAGE IN FRANCE.

DEAR DIARY (AKA TERRI)

ROUND AND ROUND THE MOUNTAINS WE GO IN SEARCH OF WINIERS CHECKING OUT VINEYARD.

WE WANTED TO SEE THE METHODS OF GRAPE GROWING WITH OURS IN CANADA.

THE WORKERS WERE VERY HELPFUL WITH INFORMATION AND WITH THE COMPLIMENTARY DEGUSTATIONS.

NEEDLESS TO SAY WE NEVER MADE IT TO BURGUNDY, OR BORDEAUX REGIONS. WE WERE

QUITE CONTENT WITH THE WINES OFFERED HERE IN CORBIERES..

DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WERE SPRING LIKE, HAVING A HEAVY SWEATER/SKI JACKET A MUST..

HOPE TO COME AGAIN SOON.

Dear Terri,

Thank you so much for a blissful week here.  This is a  spectacular part of France.  This house is gorgeous, we really

appreciate all the touches of detail, like the really fluffy towels and fairy lights in the bathroom.  Thank you.

Tips for guests:

Watch out for the trouser van on Tuesdays, I thoughyt I’d misheard but I hadn’t - there really was a van selling trousers.

There is absolutely noting funny about those stairs after a bottle and a half of Corbieres wine.

Peyrpetus is breathtaking, stunning - however wear your climbing shoes and idealy do not go the day after you’ve  consumed a bottle and a half of Corbiere wine.

The drive along the coast to Spain is amazing, right through the mountains.

The bar in the village is very friendly and epen every evening except Sunday and Tuesday.  If you challenge the

locals to a game of be prepared for a humiliting defeat.

Bages is lovely and home to  what looks like thousand of pink flamingos.

Carrcasonne is magnificient.

This was by  far the most beautiful gite we’ve ever stayed in; the location is gorgeous, the attention to

detail in the renovation is delightful and the owner exceptionally friendly and accomodating.  It’s  situation

means it is easy to get  to load of fantastic spots, such as Peyrepetuse and Carcassonne, and we found an amazing restaurant in Narbonne called “‘entree Temps’ on Rue L’Ancient Courrier, just opposite the town hall.

The village is peaceful but friendly, and it proved a brilliant retreat that we’d love to return to.

Hi Terri,

Thank you so much for a really lovely week at your gite!  We had a wonderful time, and love the village.

The local gents were great fun at the bar which we went to a couple of nights, and we had fun

Exploring the area.  Thanks for the bottle of wine and the flowers!

Hi Terri,

We had a fantastic time, thank you!!  It was the perfect base for all the day trips we did.  We had no idea how beautiful the Languedoc-Roussilon region is or how much there is to see!!

The notes left by you and others who have stayed are a great starting point for planning what to see and do.  We loved the fact that there is no TV or internet to distract you!!  It’s so rate these days and so restoring just to get away from all the nonsense.....back to basics.

We made the most of our time there with day trips virtually everyday. The last day helping Thiery build a dry stone wall in his vineyard was just the perfect ending to a wonderful honeymoon.

And we adored looking at the “Vegas Church” from the balcony at night!

We hope to go back in the not too distant future when time allows.  Thank you for letting us use your lovely little French house.  I hope you enjoy many years of good tenants.

Very best wishes,

Dear Terri,

We loved your place in Villeseque!   It was clean and welcoming and we tried to leave it as we found it.   We found  plenty to do exploring the Cathar country.  We love the village.

Hello Terri!

It really is a super location.  I went all the way to Andorra one day- lovely drive, but it is a tourist nest.  My other long distance drive was to Figueres in Spain to see the Dali museum.  Very good if you like Dali.  I also took in Ceret on the way home.  Well worth a visit!  I left a note on your notebook explaining the back road to Leucate past the front of the marie.  What a joy to get good oysters and also some moules!  I enjoyed Beziers where I also ate moules!  The “Last Supper” was at Bonafous where to my astonishment the people at the next table were from BC.

Dear Terri,

We had an absolutely fantastic week.  Thank you so much for letting us use your house.  It was delightful and very welcoming

and we thought the house was very well equipped.

We spent most of our time exploring the area and enjoying the beautiful countryside.  Although we loved visiting the larger places of interest

including Limoux, Carcassonne, Peypetrueuse aned Villefrance de Conflet, we most enjoyed some of the smaller scenic places such as Allet les Bains and Lagrasse as well as the beautiful villages in the Corbieres near to Villeseque.

Best of all, we really enjoyed spending our evenings sitting on your terrace looking up at the stars and thinking that we might have a similar place of our own one day.

Hi Terri,

Happy New Year !  Just a quick note to thank you for a great time in France.  We thoroughly enjoyed our time and loved your house.  We could not have asked for better weather and spent a great deal of time rambling around the little villages

and towns nearby.

Dear Terri,

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your little house.   Unfortunately it rained for two days but armed with our books and the reading matter in the house we were extremely content.

The Troc card was very useful and we managed to buy several things for our home considerably cheaper than buying them here.

We had some lovely walks thru the vineyards and ate well.

We hope to stay in your little house again in the future.

We’ve had a short but wonderful stay in the little house and I wish I could make it home!  The top floor is my favorite for listening to birds and maki9ng tea in the mornings, drying clothes and watching the man you love cook you dinner from the little loft bed.  Villeseque is a wonderful town; bike rides through the countryside are relaxing and the stars at night are really beautiful.  Thank you for a wonderful place to stay, it’s very comfortable and friendly.

Thanks so much for the unique and thoughtful accommodations.  This place grows on you and I have slept better here than anywhere.  We appreciate the nice linens and complete kitchen.  We enjoyed nice meals out and about but I managed to assemble some delicious suppers here at home base.  The wines, views, food and people are all super fantastic.  I feel recharged and my husband had plenty to photograph.

Note for future guests:  Mangeoire (10 BD de la Capella) recommended by a nice Frenchman we met in front of his health food store.  The bridge is an astounding work of art.

Again, thanks for your vision and work in creating such a nice space.  In addition, I would like to say we loved having the washing machine and the dryer was a luxury.  We ate dinner twice at the Clos de Cascastel.  The gentleman there, Pasqual, was very helpful and friendly to us.  The salads are delicious and giant! Everything else was good also and we were glad to find it open on Sunday evening.

All and all an excellent getagway.

It was sad to leave yesterday - blue sky & swifts sweeping overhead as we ate breakfast on your terrace...... and the countryside covered in wild flowers.

Dear Terri,

We just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful stay in your little treasure, the beautiful atmosphere, the bits and pieces we

couldn't stop looking at and the lovely terrace. Actually  the  terrace is far smaller then on the picture we saw in the web but we

enjoyed it exactly as it is. You thought about so many things to be comfortable in the house from the very first moment on, that was

really great to see.

We will definitely recommend your accommodation to all who ask us about where to stay in this part of france and hope ourselves to

come back.  It was for us both a little interior design journey with all the  loving details and I got a lot of nice ideas from it for our own home.

If you have any recommendations for england I would be glad to get them because we are planning to make a trip there in the near future.

Have a lovely time and thanks again.
